Pixs from MTC and Independence, Missouri

The first picture is obviously at the MTC of Sister Tyler and her comp Sister Walker. Same picture at the right. The bottom picture is in MO. I'm thinking the middle sister is Bailey, whom Kandie loves and is praying will be baptized and her comp now Sister Stowell. Kandie is loving every minute of her mission and we can't wait until she gets to call us Sunday night at 6:00 pm, yeah baby!! Kandie is loving teaching, loving giving tours at the visitor center and is even pursueing a career in music as she sings soloes after she gives tours. Awesome!!!

Thank goodness you're better Ashy!!!!

This is a picture of our little Ashlin in Primary Children's Hospital on April 13. This was her second hospital visit from pneumonia. April 2 she was admitted to Utah Valley for pneumonia and dehydration. They kept her a little over 24 hours and 8 days later she was admitted to Primary Children's Hospital to have a drain inserted into her chest to drain the infection around her lungs. A pic line was also inserted into her arm to enable her mother to give her antibiotics intraveinously (sp?) at home after she was released from the hospital. The tube (straw size) drained for 2 days and then they released her to go home after being in the hospital for 3 days. The home health care nurse came the day after Ashy was released from the hospital and showed her mommy how to give her a vial of saline, a vial of antibiotic, a vial of saline and a vial of heprine (again, sp?) every day for 2 weeks. The pic line was removed this last Tuesday and Ashy is doing great. Her white blood count is down and she's acting like her happy cute self again after giving us all a great scare. We are so grateful for the power of priesthood blessings and for wonderful doctors and for great mommy and daddy nurses.
We LOVE YOU A TON ASHY!!!!

A hole in one????

For those of you who don't know, about 10 days ago I stopped a golf ball with my face while I was still in my car. I only had 10 stitches and a major headache. Cat scan revealed no broken bones but a much swollen, defigured, colorful face. In the second picture I seem to have developed a tan. This was the day before the stitches were taken out. The 3rd picture is the day the stitches were taken out and the last picture was yesterday. As you can see, I'm healing pretty fast. Thank goodness, Dave and I were in Arizona for most of the coloration and swelling so not too many people at home saw my lovely eye. Now, noone can say I never post my picture! ....and what a lovely picture it is! I'm doing just fine and dandy but I don't think I'll be going to the golf course anytime soon.

Kaylen's First Birthday

Today is Kaylen's first birthday and I'm wishing I was with her to celebrate. Kelly's little family has had 3 birthdays in the last week. Dallin's birthday was Feb. 26, and he turned 7, Bill's birthday was the 28th - and I won't tell how old you are Bill - and Kaylen's birthday is today. I'm so sad we live so far apart and we can't just drive over to the their house and give them all a BIG HUG. Telephones are great though but a poor substitute.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you all and we LOVE YOU ALL so much.

This is our lastest picture of Kelly's family

Dallas and Mari are new home owners!

On the 1st of March we got to help Dallas and Mari move into their new home in Pleasant View. It's never fun to move but it's great once it's done. We're so excited for them and hope they have a great ward and neighbors.

Happy George Washington's Birthday

I'll bet you're wondering how I know that it's Washington's birthday. My grandpa Nielson was born on this day over 100 years ago and our oldest son Dallas was due on this day - but was born on the 18th - and if I'm not mistaken my sister's wedding anniversary is today, 28 years I think. So we have a lot to remember today.

Dallas had his 29th birthday Monday and we had a party on Saturday night to celebrate. He and Mari are doing great and keep way too busy. Mari is about 1/2 way through Massage Therapy school and goes to school 3 nights a week and every Saturday for about 5-6 hours. Needless to say, they don't see each other much. They are trying to get into a house which should happen pretty soon here. We're so excited for them and love them very much.
Kandie fly out on Wednesday and I got to talk to her. She called from the SLC airport and she sounded wonderful and sooo happy. She was flying out with 13 other missionaries, 10 elders and 3 sisters besides herself. She had been companions with 2 of the sisters for the last week and the other sister missionary they just met. Apparently she isn't going to serve in the visitor centers so they didn't meet in the MTC. Kandie got to go to temple square last Saturday and follow the sisters serving in the visitor center. I kinda wish we'd have known about that. Oh, you know, we wouldn't have gone down but ......

My dad called last night, Thursday, and told me his friend Max Hamilton had stopped by and told him that his son Scott, who lives in Independence, Missouri, has a new sister missionary in their ward, McKenzie Tyler. Is it a small world or what? I wanted her to e-mail when she got to Missouri but I guess she couldn't but now I know where she is and that she made it. Yeah!!

I've been busy dejunking!! For those of you who know me really well, you know this is pretty hard to do. I'm a keeper and Dave is a thrower. I'm just a-throwing and DI-ing. I think Dave just might keep me a little longer. It's amazing how much stuff two people can accumulate - or should I say 1 person? I'm almost on first name basis with the guys at DI.
Remember your great heritages and why we such a great nation and the sacrifices that were made in all our behalves. Take care and I hope it's not another month before I post again.
74 weeks and counting.......

Only 77 weeks left

...but who's counting. Kandie's been gone one week today and in her only letter she seems great.
I'll bet the spirit is so strong at the MTC especially with the prophet passing on. I think it would be a great time to be at the MTC. Dallas and Mari couldn't get off work to see Kandie off but they came the night before when she was set apart. Ade thinks I should get a dog.....I'll have to think long and hard about that one.

I'm just learning.

This is the picture that was supposed to be with the first post. This is our soon-to-be missionary daughter, Sister Tyler.

It's getting closer

Our youngest daughter, McKenzie, is leaving in 6 days to go the mission training center in Provo, Utah on January 23, 2008. She will be serving in the Missouri, Independence mission. It's just getting too close. We're so excited for her but we are going to miss her something fierce. She keeps us laughing all the time and it is so fun to be around her, we seek her out. We know we have to share her light with others - so Missouri, get ready for the best sister missionary ever - not that we're at all prejudice at all.
